Troubleshooting
The Locinvar ignition device not only conserves energy but protects life and property. When additional heat is needed, the combustion air blower starts a prepurge cycle for about 15 seconds. Upon validation of air flow, the air proving switch makes the connection to allow the igniter to begin it's ignition cycle. To assure safe operation, the gas valve cannot open until the igniter is proven. The igniter keeps building and personal safe because this electronic device will close the main gas valve within 0.8 seconds whenever the flame is interrupted. Main burners automatically light when the igniter is energized and prepurge is complet. This control performs its own safety check and opens the main valve only after the igniter is proven to be capable of igniting the gas.
