Teledyne Laars is the man who manufactured the first Mark IV and Mark V
pool heaters during the 1970's. Many of the Mark V's are still in full
operation today. The Teledyne Laars Series 1 and Series 2 were
manufactured later, in the 1990's, and are also still heating pools
today. For areas that cannot access natural gas, Teledyne Laars created
the only oil-fired pool heater in the 1970's. The oil burners for the Teledyne
Laars XL2, XL3, DP200 and DP3000 oil fired pool heaters are manufactured by
Beckett.
The Laars lite and the Laars Lite 2 are the most modern of the Teledyne
Laars brands. The Laars lite went into production in 1997 and stopped
being manufactured in 2000, when the Laars Lite II hit the market.
